Today is Lord Jagannath’s Suna Besha: The Divine Trinity to Dazzle in Golden Glory
Puri: Wednesday marks the auspicious day of Ashadha Shukla Ekadashi. On this sacred occasion, the rare and majestic Suna Besha (Golden Adornment) of Lord Jagannath will be observed. The divine wooden idols, seated on their chariots, will be adorned in magnificent gold ornaments.
All necessary preparations have been completed by the administration. For this grand adornment, precious gold and silver ornaments will be brought out from the temporary external treasury (Changada Ghar) of the Srimandir premises. The deities will be embellished with various types of gem-studded jewelry, blessing devotees with their splendid darshan atop the chariots.
On Wednesday morning, the temporary treasury (Changada Ghar) will be opened, and the required ornaments for Suna Besha will be taken out. In the presence of the Bhandar Mekap and Bania Sevaks, the ornaments will be cleaned and prepared.
After the completion of the Mailama and Ekadashi Sarvanga rituals on the chariots, the Suna Besha ceremony will commence from 5 PM onwards.
