The kashatandi (white wildgrass) sways and smiles, rustling gently in the breeze. Draped in a white sheet of these soft blooms, Mother Earth herself appears adorned. With the arrival of Ashwina comes the promise of Jagaddhatri. The earth has prepared herself, embellished in festive grandeur. The season of Sharadiya brings the essence of festivity, and in the gentle sway of the breeze, the fragrance of kashatandi dances in the air. Nature welcomes the Divine Mother with swinging joy, her charm now doubled in delight. The purity of dew drops glistens brightly. When the first rays of golden morning sunlight fall, Mother Nature beams with a sparkling smile.
The kashatandi flower is a unique creation of nature—a marvel of divine design. According to the rhythm of creation, this flower blooms just before the arrival of the Goddess and withers away after her departure. From afar, it looks as though a white shawl has been gently laid across Mother Earth. Up close, it stirs the heart with its serene beauty. This is the rootless kashatandi, not used in worship, yet it graces the land of Sharad season with unmatched elegance. It is a seasonal wonder.
As we prepare for the upcoming festivities, how could Mother Nature be left behind? Since the dawn of creation, she has faithfully upheld this divine tradition. The kashatandi flowers bloom once more—awaiting the arrival of the Mother, longing like a thirsty Chātaka bird for her holy presence.
