Foundation Laid for New 25-Room Complex for Saints and Sages in Puri
Puri – A grand Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) and foundation-laying ceremony was recently held at the premises of the Shri Ramachandra Swami Charitable Trust, located near the Shri Balaji Temple and close to the Shri Lokanath Temple in Puri. The new complex, consisting of 25 rooms, is being constructed under the guidance of the Trust’s Chairman and the Mahant of Jeeyar Swami Math, Shri Indira Raman Ramanuj Das Ji Maharaj. The ceremony was performed in the presence of distinguished priests and scholars.
Participating in the puja as the main priest was Swami Sudarshan Ramanuj Das Ji Maharaj, a saint of Jeeyar Swami Math and a key member of the Trust. He stated that the upcoming complex will serve as a comfortable and respectful resting place for saints, sages, and mahants from across India who come to Puri to seek the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath.
Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Bijay Narayan Ramanuj Das, Mahant of Kataki Math and a trustee member; advocate Prasanna Mishra and his associates; and chief priest Pandit Indramani Pati. Other scholars who performed the rituals included Pandit Ritesh Kumar Mishra, Pandit Debendra Dwivedi, Pandit Shib Prasad Nanda, Pandit Ashish Kumar Dwivedi, Pandit Ajay Kumar Dwivedi, Pandit Santosh Satapathy, and Pandit Itikanta Das. Trust members Ramesh Sharma, Suresh Sharma, Vishnu Kumar Joshi, and Kamal Agrawal also contributed significantly to organizing the event.
More than 1,000 local residents were present at the occasion and participated in the prasad distribution following the religious ceremonies.
