Nutrition Awareness Camp Held in Kakatpur Panchayat

Kakatpur, 24/08 – As part of the ongoing Poshan Abhiyan being conducted across the state by the Women and Child Development Department, Anganwadi workers are organizing various awareness programs. Today, in two panchayats of Kakatpur—Kakatpur and Kantapada—awareness programs on the Poshan Abhiyan were conducted using theatrical performances involving Anganwadi workers and their assistants.

With the government’s unique initiative to create a malnutrition-free society, Anganwadi workers and helpers conveyed awareness messages through drama. Dressed as traditional folk characters—Chadeia and Chadeiani—they sang local songs and delivered messages highlighting the importance of maternal and adolescent health. They emphasized that if pregnant women, new mothers, and adolescent girls remain healthy, the entire society will benefit. A healthy mother gives birth to a healthy child, which in turn helps reduce malnutrition-related mortality and contributes to building a healthier nation.

Using folk songs and dances, the performers explained to the public that today’s child is tomorrow’s future. This program, apart from offering a new direction to society, was an effort to spread awareness and promote community well-being.

Speaking on the occasion, an officer from the Women and Child Development Department mentioned that the initiative aimed to guide society toward better awareness and health. Present at the event were Miss Mary Michael Khes, officer from the Kakatpur Women and Child Development Department, along with all supervisors, who actively participated in promoting and spreading the campaign’s message.
