“A Tree for Mother” at Kishan Nodal School
Kanas – 27/07/2024: On the sixth day of Puri Education Week, a special event titled “A Tree for Mother” was organized at Kishan Nodal Upper Primary School under Kanas block with the support of the Youth and Eco Club. To mark the occasion, students, teachers, and guardians organized a procession where children raised slogans encouraging the planting of trees for their mothers. A general meeting was held during the day, and saplings were distributed to 45 mothers with suggestions to plant them in the school, at home, or in open areas. To commemorate the event, various trees such as mango, peepal, and amla were planted on the school campus.
Throughout the Education Week, the school observed a variety of educational and cultural activities. On the first day, teaching-learning materials (TLM) were prepared. The second day focused on model teaching related to basic literacy and numeracy, along with a children’s magazine exhibition. The third day featured traditional games like puchi, bohu chori, and jadu pedi. On the fourth day, students showcased dances, music, different traditional outfits, local cuisine, folk art, and architecture in a cultural program. The fifth day was dedicated to discussions on skill development and digital education. The seventh and final day is scheduled to be observed as Community Participation Day.
The event saw the active involvement of Head Teacher Prashant Kumar Mangaraj, Teacher Siddheshwar Behera, and lady teachers Charulata Dei and Mamata Murmu, who played a key role in making the program successful.
