Ravenshaw Students Visit the ‘Man-Making Factory’ of Satyabadi
Around sixty students from the Postgraduate Department of Education at Ravenshaw University, along with six faculty members, visited Satyabadi High School as part of an educational study tour. Upon their arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the school authorities.
The students toured several historical and culturally significant sites, including the thatched hut where the Panchasakha (Five Friends) once lived, the place where Gopabandhu Das breathed his last, Nilakantha’s study seat, and the Amra Vana (Mango Grove). The visitors also interacted with members of the school community, including Sanatan Sahu, President of the School Management Committee; Pranab Kumar Mishra, a former student and ex-Principal of Trutiya Deba Vidyapeetha; and Smt. Bhabam Pradhan, Block Education Officer (BEO), who all extended their greetings and shared insights.
BEO Smt. Pradhan explained the ideology and life philosophy of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, while former Principal Mishra provided historical context about the forest-based school operated under the ideals of the Panchasakha. The students also visited the Panchasakha Library, the memorial site of the Panchasakha, and the sacred Bakula Forest near the school.
Senior teacher of the forest school, Manas Ranjan Pattnayak, presented the school’s official publication Ratnachira as a token of appreciation and extended best wishes and farewell to the visiting faculty.
The Ravenshaw University faculty members—Dr. Bikala Charan Das, Dr. Kulamani Sahu, Shri Prashanta Mallik, Jagadish Bishwal, Rakesh Kumar Sahu, and Manjushree Panda—expressed their happiness and conveyed their best wishes for the continued growth and heritage preservation of this historically rich institution, famously known as the “Man-Making Factory.”
