35th Road Safety Week Observed
Kakatpur, Date: 17/01 — The 35th National Road Safety Week was observed in Kakatpur by the Puri Regional Transport Office. Every year, Road Safety Week is celebrated across the country from January 11th to 17th. In the same spirit, a series of programs were organized in Kakatpur.
In collaboration with the Youth Red Cross, Netrananda Sahu Women’s College, Master Girija Memorial Road Safety Foundation Trust (Bhubaneswar), and other organizations, a rally was conducted. The rally began at Netrananda Sahu Women’s College and moved through Kakatpur market before concluding at the Kakatpur police station premises, where participants spread awareness about road safety among the public.
The event saw the participation of Kakatpur Police Station Officer Priya Ranjan Nayak, Puri Regional Transport Office Inspector Sushanta Kumar Patra, Red Cross Counselor and college lecturer Amiya Bala Parida, proprietor of Shri Automobiles Kakatpur Salil Ranjan Dixit, Sumitra Parida (Director of Jahan Public School), Mamata Mahapatra (Principal of Jahan Public School), students of Netrananda Sahu Women’s College, Jahan Public School, and NCC cadets from Kakatpur Government High School. Officials and staff from various institutions also joined the event.
Later, an awareness meeting was held in the premises of Kakatpur Government High School under the coordination of the school’s Headmaster, Pratap Kumar Raut.
