The Greatness of the Panchayat Samiti
Donated Solar Light to Village Cremation Ground
Kakatpur – Today, Samarendra Dixit, a Panchayat Samiti member from Kakatpur, has set an inspiring example by using the money received from his honorarium to install solar lights at the cremation ground in his native village. For a long time, people traveling from Mangalpur to the sacred shrine of Goddess Jogamaya had to face difficulties due to the absence of lighting in the area, particularly around the cremation grounds used by Brahmin Sevayats, Mahanti Sahi, and Bauripokhari.
Due to the darkness at night, people faced major inconveniences while conducting last rites and rituals at these cremation sites. Earlier too, Samarendra Dixit had addressed the needs of villagers in Boitikuda by installing a tube well after observing their hardships.
By spending his own honorarium funds on these social service projects, Dixit says he has attained a deep sense of personal satisfaction. His schoolmates, Ashok Kumar Dixit (Butuna) and Subashish Mahanti (Tapu), speak highly of him, describing him as a good leader who has won the hearts of the people.
The estimated cost for completing the current project is around 18,000 to 20,000 rupees, and the remaining amount will also be contributed by Dixit himself
