Fire Destroys Two Thatched Houses; Furniture and Paddy Bags Damaged
Kakatpur, 14/23: A massive fire broke out in Suhanpur village under Kakatpur block, completely destroying the house of Maheswar Maharana. According to reports, the incident occurred in the evening when Mr. Maharana was away for some work. His wife and other family members were at home at the time.
The fire reportedly started from the thatched roof, with thick smoke rising above the house. Upon noticing the blaze, the family raised an alarm, drawing the attention of local neighbors. They rushed to help and tried to control the fire. Meanwhile, the Kakatpur Fire Brigade was informed and reached the spot to bring the flames under control.
In the fire, two thatched houses belonging to Maheswar Maharana were completely gutted. Clothes, paddy sacks, and some household furniture and belongings were also destroyed in the incident. Upon receiving the news, officials from the Kakatpur Tehsil office, the Kantapada Revenue Inspector, and local public representatives arrived at the scene and assessed the situation.
