Biggest Aircraft Deal: Air India to Purchase 540 New Planes
Air India is set to buy 540 new aircraft in what is being called the largest deal in aviation history. The agreement is worth hundreds of billions of dollars. Under this massive deal, Air India will purchase planes from both the French company Airbus and the American company Boeing.
A mega deal has been signed with Airbus for the purchase of 250 aircraft. The agreement took place in the virtual presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. Additionally, under Tata Group ownership, Air India will buy 220 planes from the American aviation giant Boeing. This includes 190 Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body jets.
The order also includes 20 Boeing 787s and 10 Boeing 777X wide-body aircraft. Furthermore, an additional 70 aircraft are also set to be purchased from Boeing. Following this deal, Prime Minister Modi had a conversation with U.S. President Joe Biden.
