Kakatpur, 22/2 – Dibakar Parida reported that the entire population of Kakatpur is aware of his deep devotion to Shri Ram Charit Manas near the Maa Mangala temple. A long-time resident of Mahanti Sahi, Kakatpur, he had been living in his self-built house for the past 40 years. According to his relatives, people in the locality highly appreciated his behavior and admired his dedication to the welfare of others. He was always available to help during times of need and difficulty.

The sudden news of Dibakar Parida’s demise left Kakatpur in shock. He passed away at the age of 82. Upon hearing of his death on Tuesday morning, many locals rushed to his home for a final glimpse. He had reportedly been suffering from age-related illness for the past few days.

He had served as the Director of the Pipili branch of the Central Cooperative Society of Nimapada, Puri, and later held the position of Treasurer at the Kakatpur branch. After retiring from service a few years ago, he had remained deeply involved in helping villagers with their various needs and issues.

Following his death, former directors of the Kakatpur Central Cooperative Society—Rabindra Dixit, Basanta Kumar Dixit, and Purnachandra Swain—expressed deep sorrow. All members of Ram Charit Manas were also deeply saddened and extended their condolences to his family.

During his final moments, he was surrounded by his son Manas, daughter-in-law Swarna, daughters Reena, Babi, Kuni, sons-in-law Sarat, Bibhu, Bhakta, grandchildren, other family members, friends, and well-wishers. From his home to the cremation ground, villagers accompanied the procession chanting “Hari Naam Satya Hai, Ram Naam Satya Hai”. His son Manas performed the last rites by lighting the funeral pyre.
