Public Uprising for Their Rights
A massive rally and protest demonstration was held today in Satyabadi against widespread irregularities and corruption in the distribution of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Phani (cyclone) assistance.
In a strong move to claim their rightful entitlements, thousands of men and women from the Satyabadi region took part in a large-scale public protest organized by the “Prayas” organization, led by youth leader Shri Kamakshya Pradhan, in front of the Satyabadi Block office. A memorandum addressed to the Hon’ble District Collector was submitted to the Block Development Officer.
Serious allegations have been raised regarding large-scale irregularities in the beneficiary list under the housing scheme in Satyabadi block. While many eligible beneficiaries have been excluded from the scheme, several ineligible individuals have allegedly been included in the list.
The memorandum demanded a thorough investigation into the irregularities, removal of the ineligible beneficiaries from the list, and inclusion of the rightful, eligible beneficiaries.
With elections approaching, the protest led by Kamakshya Pradhan marked a significant political and social movement in the region.
