Allegation of Misappropriation of Government Funds for Building Construction, Complaint Filed at Police Station
Kakatpur, 14/4 – A serious allegation has emerged in the Kakatpur Gram Panchayat under Kakatpur Block regarding the misappropriation of lakhs of rupees sanctioned under the “Cluster Centre” and “Ama Gaon Ama Bikash” government schemes for the construction of a building (Kothaghar). It has been alleged that fake documents were created to siphon off the sanctioned grant amount. A formal complaint (FIR) has been filed at Kakatpur Police Station against the block administration in this matter.
According to the complaint, no Cluster Centre has actually been constructed on Khata No. 291, Plot No. 166 of Srirampur Mouza, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kakatpur Tehsil. Furthermore, as per the RTI (Right to Information) response obtained, it was revealed that under the Ama Gaon Ama Bikash scheme, work on the Srirampur Kothaghar was officially stated to have started on 29.08.2018 and completed on 23.04.2021 (CR No. 168/2018/19). However, in reality, no such building was ever constructed at the said location.
Upon discovering this shocking discrepancy, Purendra Kumar Nayak lodged a complaint at Kakatpur Police Station against the former Assistant Engineer, former Junior Engineer, current Block Development Officer (BDO), and current Junior Engineer. He has requested that legal action be taken against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Copies of the complaint have also been sent to the District Collector of Puri, the Project Director (Puri), the DPO (Puri), and the Superintendent of Police (Puri) for their information. The complainant has also demanded a vigilance investigation into the matter.
