Kalyan Mandap Inaugurated at Someshwar Temple for Village Elders
Kakatpur, 07/03/2024 – (Tushar Dixit) – Among the eight renowned forms of Lord Shambhu, the temple of Lord Someshwar is one of the most ancient and revered, situated over nearly three acres of land. Through the dedication and efforts of the local community, a newly constructed and modern Kalyan Mandap (community hall) was officially inaugurated today by senior servitors of Kakatpur.
The Mandap was built with a financial investment of ₹40 lakhs, jointly funded by the servitor organization and government support. During a special meeting, five senior servitors ceremonially cut the ribbon and inaugurated the newly constructed hall.
Among the distinguished guests were former president of the servitor association Lakshmidhar Dixit, former member Balunkeshwar Das, senior politician and servitor Jogendra Padhi, renowned educationist and founder of Mangala College Ramchandra Dixit, Executive Officer of Mangala Temple Kailash Chandra Das, current president of the servitor association Manoranjan Panda, secretary Pavitra Kumar Dixit, vice-president Kamal Lochan Dixit, senior member Ashok Kumar Dixit, Tushar Ranjan Dixit, advisory committee members Harihar Dixit, Sharata Kumar Dixit, and Sudarshan Dixit.
The newly built facility was envisioned with the needs of devotees in mind. It will serve as a venue for weddings, engagements, birth celebrations, ear-piercing rituals, sacred thread ceremonies (Bratopanayana), water consecrations (Jalabhishek), and other community functions. Guests expressed that this development marks a major milestone and a proud achievement for the association.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by servitor Ashok Kumar Dixit, who extended gratitude to all attending guests. He also informed that on the sacred occasion of Jagara, devotees will perform the all-night vigil, culminating in the Mahadeepa being raised precisely at 11:00 PM.
