Unsafe Rural Roads – Three Accidents in Two Days – Rising Distress

Kakatpur – 09/02/2024 (Tushar Dixit) – The roads in and around rural Kakatpur have become increasingly unsafe. Reckless driving by intoxicated drivers and overspeeding vehicles are leading to frequent accidents, claiming lives prematurely.

Despite three accidents occurring over the past two days, this morning’s incident was especially heart-wrenching. A head-on collision between a two-wheeler and a car (OD-02CS-7650) near Balara severely injured Sukanta Sethy (35) and his minor son Ramchandra Sethy, both from Kantapada village under Astarang block. The child suffered a serious abdominal injury with heavy bleeding.

Police arrived at the scene promptly and rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment. The car and its driver have been detained at the police station.

Due to disorganized traffic management, such tragic incidents are increasing. Locals are now demanding immediate intervention from senior police officials.
