National-Level Seminar on Environmental Protection Organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad
Bhubaneswar – 16/03/2024 – A national-level discussion forum and one-day workshop on “Protection of the Changing Environment” was organized jointly by Bharat Vikas Parishad, Odisha East and the Central Branch at Jayadev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, 16th March, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Shri M. Premajee Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of Central Agricultural University and National Project Head of Environment for Bharat Vikas Parishad, graced the event as the chief guest. The keynote address was delivered by Shri Dinabandhu Sahu, founding director of the Center for Himalayan Studies and professor at Delhi University.
The event saw participation from several renowned scholars and environmentalists from across India, including scientists from ISRO and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Among the distinguished speakers were Dr. Ashok Mahapatra, former Vice-Chancellor of SOA University; Shri Kartik Chandra Swain, scientist at ISRO; Professor Kamalakanta Jena; Debojit Mishra, scientist at ORSAC; and Professor Subash Chandra Sahu of OUAT.
The workshop was attended by around 300 participants, including members of Bharat Vikas Parishad’s Odisha East unit, intellectuals, social workers, and students from schools and colleges.
The seminar was presided over by Smt. Geeta Pattnaik, National Vice President of Women & Child Development, Bharat Vikas Parishad. Other dignitaries present and instrumental in organizing the event included Shri Satyabadi Das, President of Odisha East; Seminar Coordinator Shri Basanta Kumar Mishra; State Secretary Pradeepta Kumar Maharani; Dr. Hemanta Kumar Mishra, Chief Editor of the souvenir Smaranika; and Shri Nihar Ranjan Swain, Media In-Charge of Odisha East. The day-long workshop and seminar were conducted smoothly with active participation and coordination from all involved.
