81st Birth Anniversary of Shilpiguru Raghunath Mohapatra Celebrated – Shyama Mani Devi, Kumkum Mohanty, Baladev Maharatha, and Prabhakar Maharana Honored with Memorial Award
Bhubaneswar: Dated 24/03/2024 – The 81st birth anniversary of the legendary sculptor, Padma Vibhushan awardee, former Member of Parliament, and icon of Odia identity and timeless sculptural art, Shilpiguru Raghunath Mohapatra, was celebrated this evening at 6 PM near Netaji Bhavan, close to Pragati Sporting, Unit-6, Bhubaneswar.
Renowned linguist and Padma Shri awardee Devi Prasanna Pattnaik attended the annual event as the chief guest and paid tribute to the revered soul while also presenting the Shilpiguru Raghunath Mohapatra Memorial Award 2024. This year, the awards were conferred upon noted Odissi classical vocalist Shyama Mani Devi, eminent Odissi dancer Padma Shri Kumkum Mohanty, acclaimed sculptor Padma Shri Prabhakar Maharana, and distinguished painter Baladev Maharatha.
The event was graciously anchored by Prasanna Bisoee. The welcome address was delivered by Basudev Bhatt. Guru Pada Baliarsingh conducted the felicitation ceremony. The memorial session included heartfelt tributes from Manoj Jena, Santosh Senapati, Tarakanta Parida, Mala Jena, and other members of the Shilpiguru Raghunath Mohapatra Memorial Committee. The vote of thanks was delivered by Jagabandhu Jena.
