37 Liters of Liquor Seized, 3 Arrested
Kakatpur, 11/05/2024 (Tushar Dixit): In a major crackdown, the Kakatpur police in Puri district conducted raids in various areas under its jurisdiction—specifically in Kundhei, Fakirsahi, and Suhagpur—and seized 37 liters of illicit country liquor. Along with the seizure, three illegal liquor traders were arrested and forwarded to court.
According to sources, late Friday night, a team led by Kakatpur Police Station IIC Bijay Ketan Behera carried out raids in the mentioned areas. During the operation, Bharat Kandi (34), son of Ishwar Kandi from Bodala village; Prafulla Sahu alias Pagala (55), son of Karunakar Sahu from Fakirsahi village; and Ajay Sethi alias Suka (32), son of Duryodhan Sethi from Narendra Pur village, were arrested.
A total of 37 liters of illicit liquor was confiscated from their possession. Separate cases have been registered under the Excise Act with case numbers 109/24, 110/24, and 111/24. The accused have been forwarded to court following the legal procedures.
