Kakatpur – 10/11/2024
(By: Tushar Dixit)

Today marks the sacred Anla Navami, observed on the ninth day of the waxing phase (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Kartika. According to Hindu scriptures, this is an auspicious day when devotees worship the Anla (Indian gooseberry) tree, regarded as a divine tree associated with Goddess Jagaddhatri.

In villages and towns across the region, especially in Purapalli, devotees performed various rituals and pujas at the Anla tree. As per scientific views, the Anla fruit is believed to have highly beneficial properties for health during this season.

In Astaranga Block, rituals were conducted at several notable temples such as the Baranga Radhakrishna Temple, the historic Radha-Govinda Temple at Alangpur’s Emar Math, the Kantapahara Baliapat Radhakrishna Temple, the Someshwar Temple, and at the sacred Jagaddhatri Temple located near the Anla tree in the premises of the famous Maa Mangala Temple in Kakatpur.

On this special day, devotees offered grand pujas and performed the Radha Pada Darshan (ritual worship of Goddess Radha’s feet). They prayed with deep devotion, seeking blessings from Goddess Jagaddhatri.

Spiritual fervor was further heightened by devotional singing (bhajan), chanting (kirtan), spiritual discourses (janana), and community feasts (anna mahotsav) organized at these holy sites. The entire atmosphere in Astaranga and Kakatpur areas was filled with deep spiritual vibes, celebrating the divine spirit of Anla Navami.

Devotees also flocked to the Mangala Temple today to seek the blessings of Maa Mangala for the well-being and prosperity of their families.
