108th Birth Anniversary of Maharshi Mahesh Yogi Celebrated in Puri
Puri:
The 108th birth anniversary of spiritual master Maharshi Mahesh Yogi was celebrated with deep reverence at the Gobinda Godham Goshala premises in Alipada, organized by the Sri Ram Sundarkand Charitable Trust. The event was conducted under the direct guidance of Maharshi’s disciple and trust founder-editor Pandit Bishnu Charan Panda.
The celebration featured sacred rituals such as Homa Yajna, Vedic recitations, and the Sundarkand Path. As part of the festivities, traditional garments (bastro) were distributed among dedicated Go-Sevaks (cow caretakers) serving at the goshala.
Pandit Bishnu Maharaj and his wife Smt. Lakshmipriya Panda led the Guru Puja rituals. The Yajna was performed by Pandit Balaram Mishra, with support from Krushnachandra Maharaj of the goshala.
On this occasion, additional garments were also distributed to Go-Sevaks at the Gobinda Godham Goshala in Keutakudia Pradhan Sahi. Visiting the goshala along with local committee president Prabhat Khatei, Vishnu Maharaj addressed the gathering and highlighted Maharshi Mahesh Yogi’s global contributions. He emphasized how the spiritual leader established educational institutions across 135 countries, spreading knowledge, preserving Sanatan Hindu Dharma, promoting cow protection, and reviving the Vedas.
Vishnu Maharaj further added, “With Maharshi’s blessings, I have found true purpose in life through Go-Seva (cow service). If you too follow his ideals, the welfare of the world is certain.”
The event was hosted and conducted by the trust’s spokesperson and senior journalist Bishnudatta Das.
