Kakatpur Press Club Members Participate in State Executive Program
Kakatpur, 01/03/2025 (Tushar Dixit):
Today, a few active members of the Kakatpur Press Club departed for Angul to attend the executive meeting of the Utkal Journalists Association. Upon arriving at the venue, the gathering began with a two-minute silent tribute to the late senior journalist and President of the Puri District Journalists Association, Mr. Vikram Ramakrishna Mahapatra. Following this, the attending dignitaries expressed their views on unity among journalists and the collective spirit of the profession.
The statement by Association President Bibhuti Bhushan Kar deeply moved everyone. He remarked, “Our association has lost a valiant warrior, a man who truly understood the pulse of journalism. His absence is irreplaceable, and no words will ever suffice to honor his memory.”
Subsequently, discussions were held on the crucial role of journalists in today’s society, along with pressing issues such as journalists’ pensions, their safety, and the importance of fearless journalism. Plans were made to initiate talks with the new government to address these concerns. More than a thousand journalists from across Odisha participated in the event.
Kakatpur Press Club Secretary Mr. Aditya Kumar Raut was honored on stage during the program. Members of the club extended a message of unity, emphasizing that “unity is strength”, and expressed their willingness to build stronger relations with fellow journalists from other regions.
