BJP Workers Lay Siege to Block Office in Protest Against Corruption and Misgovernance

As part of a state-wide program initiated by BJP State President Manmohan Samal to protest against the corruption and misgovernance of the state government, BJP workers laid siege to the Kakatpur Block office. Starting from the BJP office at Medical Chhak in Kakatpur, a massive rally was led by former MLA Baidhar Mallick, with over a thousand party workers raising slogans against the ruling party and protesting the government’s anti-people policies. The rally marched through Kakatpur Bazaar and reached the block office.
During the protest meeting held there, former MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, former MLAs Baidhar Mallick and Ravi Mallick, senior BJP leader Ishwar Behera, BJP Jagatsinghpur Parliamentary In-charge Prasanna Kumar Dash, and Puri District Vice-President Ratikanta Behera (Tutu Bhai) fiercely criticized the Kakatpur block administration. They accused it of being a center of PC (percentage commission) corruption in various schemes and demanded a vigilance inquiry into the corruption at Madhusudan Bidyapeeth in Patasundar Pur Panchayat.
The protest meeting was presided over by Lataharana Mandal President Saroj Mishra and saw participation from senior leader Manmatha Swain, district executive member Mangala Prasad Samantray (Mangu Bhai), Lalit Rath, Kakatpur Mandal Prabhari Gopinath Gajapati Bhoi, BJP Yuva Morcha Puri District Convenor Priyabrata Biswal, Ranjit Rautaray, Natabar Swain, Dinakrishna Mohanty, Golekha Pradhan, Upendra Subuddhi, Basanti Nayak, Deshu Mall, Mangala Parida, and many other key workers from various panchayats.
At the meeting near the Kakatpur Block Office, the leaders informed the public about the benefits being provided by the central government. They declared that the ruling state government must be overthrown in the upcoming elections and that a BJP-led good governance would ensure transparency and an end to PC (commission-based) corruption.
