BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi Visits Kakatpur
Kakatpur, 10/12 (Sunday): Senior BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi visited her in-laws’ hometown of Kakatpur in Puri district. During her visit, she offered prayers to the presiding deity Maa Mangala and participated in a large public gathering organized by the Kakatpur-Astaranga Development Council.
After visiting the Maa Mangala temple, she proceeded on foot to the Padia at the Block Square. A public meeting was held there under the chairmanship of Tapan Mishra, President of the Kakatpur-Astaranga Development Council. Aparajita Sarangi attended the event as the chief guest, while other distinguished guests included Sarbeswar Mallik, Madhab Mallik, Jeevan Sahu, Nikunja Pattnayak, Manmatha Mallik, and Bibhuti Pattnayak.
In her address, Sarangi stated that she would work towards the revival of the sacred Prachi River and explore ways to restore it to its former glory as a flowing river. She also emphasized the need to renovate the Maa Mangala temple, originally built in the 15th century, as rainwater currently leaks into the sanctum. She mentioned plans to discuss the matter with officials from the Endowment Department.
Sarangi highlighted the necessity of building a cold storage facility in the Kakatpur and Astaranga regions and assured that she would look into it. She also expressed concern over the increasing liquor sales in villages, pledging efforts to curb it, address women’s issues, and help victims of chit fund scams recover their lost deposits.
She strongly criticized the state government for its inefficiency. Thousands of men and women attended the gathering.
