State-Level Mangala Cup: Crown Sporting Enters Final Defeating Juvenile Sporting
Kakatpur, 29/12/22 – The first semi-final match of the 33rd State-Level Mangala Cup Cricket Tournament, being held at the mini stadium in Kakatpur, Puri district, took place today between Juvenile Sporting and Crown Sporting.
Juvenile Sporting won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Crown Sporting scored 180 runs in the allotted 25 overs. For Crown, Janmejaya scored 47 runs and Shravan contributed 37 runs. From the bowling side of Juvenile Sporting, Abhishek Yadav and Saideep Mohapatra each took 2 wickets.
In response, Juvenile Sporting set out to chase the target of 181 runs but were bowled out for 173 runs in 24.3 overs, losing the match. Among their players, Ashirbad Swain scored 58 runs and Sumit Sharma added 31. For Crown Sporting, Bratysundar Behera took 4 wickets, while Janmejaya and Dilu Behera claimed 2 wickets each.
Bratysundar Behera was declared Man of the Match for his excellent performance. The prize distribution was conducted by PR Bhai, Director of Brand Factory; Soumyakanta Khuntia, Director of Khuntia Lodge and Mandap; and Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Advisor of Mangala Club and Vice President of the Kakatpur Press Club.
The match was officiated by umpires Nirmal Kumar Mishra and Ayaskant Mishra. Commentary was provided by Bhagabat Swain, Bhawani Kumar, and Pradeep Panda. Scoring duties were managed by Sachin and Likun.
According to the club president, Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, the second semi-final will be held on Friday between Rameswar Sporting and M.C.C. Kakatpur.
