Rising Star Reaches Final After Defeating Mahaveer Sporting
Kakatpur, 31st January – The first semifinal of the 30th State-Level Sharala Cup Cricket Tournament, being held at Narendra Stadium in Astaranga, took place on Monday. In this match, Yadupur Bhubaneswar emerged victorious and became the first team to enter the final.
On Tuesday, the second semifinal was played between Mahaveer Cricket Club Puri and Rising Star Kumar Basti. Winning the toss, Mahaveer Club chose to bat first and scored 96 runs for the loss of all 10 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Among their players, Padmalochan Panda scored 29 runs (with 3 fours and 1 six).
For Rising Star, bowler Rabi Kiran delivered an outstanding performance, bowling 4 overs, conceding only 11 runs, and taking 5 wickets.
In response, Rising Star chased down the target of 96 runs and scored 97 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, thereby securing the win. Abhishek Pattnaik played a crucial role for the team by scoring 38 runs (including 3 fours and 1 six).
For his excellent bowling performance, Rabi Kiran of Kumar Basti was awarded the Man of the Match title. The match was officiated by Santosh Kandi and Durgacharan Maharana.
According to information provided by media coordinator Pabitra Kumar Mohanty, the mega final match will be played on Sunday, the 5th between Rising Star Kumar Basti and Yadupur Bhubaneswar.
Adding glamour to the final match, popular Ollywood actress Tamanna, comedy actor Papu Pom Pom, and educationist Subhrajit Mahapatra are scheduled to be among the chief attractions, as informed by the organizing club.
