35th State-Level Mangala Cup: Yadupur Academy Bhubaneswar Enters Semi-Finals Defeating Masters Club Cuttack
Kakatpur, 26/12 (Tushar Dixit) – The 35th State-Level Mangala Cup Cricket Tournament is being held at the local Maa Mangala Mini Stadium. The first quarterfinal scheduled for the 25th was cancelled due to rain.
Today’s opening ceremony was attended by Kakatpur IIC Umesh Chandra Sahu and Principal of Sharala Residential College, Chittaranjan Parida, who officially inaugurated the event. Following this, the captains of both teams were invited for the toss in the second quarterfinal match.
Masters Club Cuttack won the toss and elected to field, inviting Yadupur Academy to bat first. Batting first, Yadupur Academy scored 133 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from Sheikh Salman (29 runs off 31 balls) and Amit Baraljena (35 runs off 18 balls).
Chasing a target of 134, Masters Club faced a collapse and were bowled out for 105 runs, losing all their wickets. For Yadupur Academy, Nishad Ali bowled 3.3 overs and took 3 wickets.
Chief Medical Officer of Bangurigaon Medical, Dr. Shantibhusan Jena, presented the Man of the Match award to Amit Baraljena.
The third quarterfinal match will be played on Friday between Rameshwar Sporting Bhubaneswar and Pattern Cricket Club Bhubaneswar, announced tournament president Pradeepta Kumar Dixit.
Today’s match was officiated by Odisha Cricket Association-accredited umpires Nirmal Chandra Mishra and Ayaskant Mishra.
