Massive Sand Sculpture of Lord Shiva Created by Puri’s Manas Sahoo on Goa Beach
Internationally acclaimed sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a massive sand sculpture of Lord Mahadev on the Miramar Beach in Goa, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
The sculpture depicts Lord Shiva seated on Mount Kailash, along with a beautifully crafted image of Nandi, his sacred bull. The entire artwork was intricately built by Manas Sahoo and took 10 hours to complete.
This magnificent sculpture stands 7 feet tall and is 20 feet wide, made using approximately 20 tons of sand. The artwork also carries meaningful messages such as “Happy Shivaratri” and “World Peace”.
The sand sculpture was formally inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and renowned Yoga Guru Sri Ramdev Ji, who also performed a traditional aarti (ritual lighting of lamps) near the sculpture and showered high praise on Manas Sahoo for his artistic brilliance.
