200-Foot Long Tricolour Rally Held in Kakatpur in Memory of Martyred Soldiers
February 14, 2019, remains an unforgettable date that shook the entire nation. The bloodied, dismembered bodies of soldiers lay on the roads — a scene that still sends shivers down the spine and fills hearts with sorrow. Even today, families and citizens shed tears for the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Pulwama attack. The nation still mourns the loss of these heroes, and their families and comrades continue to grieve deeply.
This day will forever be etched in the hearts of Indians as a painful memory. It is a reminder of the price paid by the country in losing its brave sons. Hence, the nation observes this day as a “Black Day” in remembrance and tribute.
Marking the significance of this day, a 200-foot-long Tricolour rally was organized in Kakatpur, Puri district, by the Gramin Charitable Trust. The rally began at the Block Square and proceeded up to the Swameshwar Temple. Alongside local residents, many youths and patriots spontaneously joined the rally, raising patriotic slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” which turned the entire area into a scene of united nationalism.
The rally also saw the active participation of NCC cadets from Mangala College, over 500 students from Jahan Public School and Brilliant Academy, and hundreds of youth from Kakatpur, Astaranga, Nayahat, Gop, and Konark areas. Together, they paid heartfelt tributes to the martyred soldiers.
