Bada Ekadashi Celebrated at Sakhigopal
Among the many festivals in the Jagannath tradition, Anla Navami and Bada Ekadashi hold great religious significance. These sacred festivals are celebrated with grandeur at the Sakhigopal Temple. Thousands of devotees gather for the occasion, and to entertain the devotees while fostering a spiritual atmosphere, the District Cultural Council, Satyabadi Panchayat Samiti, and the Puri District Administration jointly organized the Shri Radha Utsav.
This cultural festival continued from Anla Navami to Bada Ekadashi. The chief guest for the celebration was Hon’ble MLA Umakanta Samantaray. Other dignitaries present during the three-day celebration included Block Chairman Sunil Panda, Mandal Development Officer Lipsa Ray, District Information and Public Relations Officer Santosh Kumar Sethi, District Culture Officer Hemant Behera, and Vice President of the District Art and Culture Association Basanta Kumar Pradhan.
Artists from both within and outside the district performed various acts, including Odissi dance, bhajans, Sambalpuri folk performances, musical dramas, and animal-mask dances. The entire program was anchored over the three days by Saubhagini Sahu and Singhari Alok Khuntia.
The festival culminated with the celebration of Bada Ekadashi.
