E-Hundi Launched at Mangala Temple
Kakatpur, 30/01 (Tushar Dixit): An E-Hundi (digital donation box) has been installed at the sacred shrine of Goddess Maa Mangala in Kakatpur by the local branch of UCO Bank. This initiative is part of a broader national effort, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to simplify financial transactions through digital payments.
Until now, devotees visiting the Maa Mangala temple have been offering their donations in the traditional hundi. However, due to prolonged storage, the currency notes inside often deteriorate, rendering them unusable. To address this issue, the temple administration proposed the installation of an E-Hundi to the local branch of UCO Bank.
Acting upon the proposal, the E-Hundi was inaugurated in the divine presence of Maa Mangala with offerings of her sacred garland. The launch event witnessed the presence of Pramod Kumar Nayak, retired DGM of UCO Bank; Subhashish Panda, branch manager; Bishnuprasad Jena, assistant manager; Soumyakanta Raut, bank officer; Ankita Anindita, local tehsildar and temple trustee; Kailash Chandra Dash, temple executive officer; Tushar Ranjan Dixit, trustee advisor; and Kamal Lochan Dixit, vice-chairperson of the Sevayat (servitor) committee.
From today onward, devotees can directly donate to the temple’s bank account via the E-Hundi. According to temple authorities, this system will not only make the donation process more transparent and efficient but also contribute significantly to the temple’s developmental activities.
