Tree Plantation on the Occasion of “Martyrs’ Day”
Kanas, 30/01/2024: On the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi—observed as Martyrs’ Day—a tree plantation program was conducted on the premises of Kisan Nodal Upper Primary School. Students, teachers, guardians, and members of the school’s management committee actively participated in the event.
Various trees such as mango, Indian gooseberry (amla), peepal, and baula koli were planted within the school premises. On this occasion, a general assembly was also organized at the school. The meeting was presided over by the chairman of the school management committee, Shiva Prasad Baliyarsingh.
The school’s headmaster, Prashanta Kumar Mangaraj, highlighted the significance of the day, while assistant teachers Siddheswar Behera and Charulata Dei spoke about Mahatma Gandhi’s life and ideals. Teacher Mamata Murmu hosted the stage proceedings and led the tree plantation program forward.
