13-Year-Old Boy Dies in Tragic Accident at Kadua Chhak

At around 7:00 AM, a tragic road accident claimed the life of 13-year-old Dibya Ranjan Bhol (nicknamed Babuna), son of Gangadhar Bhol of Areipada village under Chandanpur police station in Puri district. Dibya, an 8th-grade student, was living with his maternal uncle in Raut Sahi of Bhatapur village under Satyabadi police limits.
On the morning of the incident, Dibya was returning home after having breakfast near Sakhigopal College Chhak. While crossing National Highway-316 near Kadua Chhak, a speeding car (registration number OD02-CZ-9594) traveling from Puri to Bhubaneswar, recklessly driven by one Manas Sahu of Plot No. 213, Phase-3, Dumduma, Khordha district, hit Dibya.
The boy sustained critical injuries and was rushed first to Sakhigopal Medical, then to Puri Medical, and finally to Bhubaneswar’s SUM Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Following the incident, the car involved was seized, and the driver, Manas Sahu, was taken into custody. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Gangadhar Bhol, Satyabadi Police registered a case (No. 37 dated 11.02.2025) under Sections 281/106(1) of the BNS. The investigation has been handed over to SI Priyatama Pradhan.
