Demise of Former Chairman’s Wife Casts Gloom Over Kakatpur

Kakatpur, 07/01 — A wave of sorrow swept through Kakatpur last night following the demise of Pranati Dixit, wife of Jambeshwar Dixit, former Principal of Mangala Mahavidyalaya and member of the renowned Maa Mangala Sevayat family. She passed away at 10:26 PM at a private hospital while undergoing treatment. She was 62 years old.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter. Earlier in the day, she had visited Maa Mangala Temple and had gone for a health check-up, during which she suddenly fell ill and was admitted to the hospital. Despite efforts, she passed away while under medical care. Family members were present at her bedside during her final moments.

This morning, when her mortal remains were brought to her residence, an atmosphere of deep mourning engulfed the area. A large number of people gathered to pay their last respects. A grand funeral procession accompanied the body to the Sevayat family cremation ground, where the last rites were performed.

Her elder son Tushar Ranjan Dixit, along with Mihir Ranjan Dixit, and sons Sameer Ranjan Dixit and Salil Ranjan Dixit performed the mukhagni (last rite of offering fire).

Among those present during the funeral were Kakatpur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sridhar Nayak, Pitabasa Dixit, family members, son-in-law Kedar Nath Padhi, nephew Debaraj Dixit, former Sarpanch Tapan Dixit, Himanshu Dixit, Krushnachandra Panda, Pradipta Dixit, President of Maa Mangala Sevak Samiti Manoranjan Panda, member Pabitra Mohan Dixit, Temple Trust Executive Officer Kailash Chandra Das, Dillip Baral, Harihar Dixit, Manas Dixit, Saroj Samal, Debiprasad Dixit, Subas Dixit, Bhagirathi Swain, Ramesh Panda, Surendra Mohan Dixit, and many others who participated in the funeral rites.
