Juvenile Crowned Champions of 34th State-Level Mangala Cup After Defeating Unique Eleven, Bhadrak
Kakatpur (Tushar Dixit), 07/01/2024 — The final match of the 34th Mangala Cup Cricket Tournament took place today at the Kakatpur Mini Stadium. Juvenile, after winning the toss, chose to bat first and scored 220 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 25 overs. In response, Unique Eleven from Bhadrak could only manage 185 runs for 8 wickets, falling short by 35 runs.
The grand final attracted a massive crowd, with spectators packed into the stadium to enjoy the thrilling match.
Chief Guest for the final was Hon’ble Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Shri Tusharkanti Behera, along with Puri District Vice-Chairman Shri Swadhin Kumar Nayak. The keynote speaker was youth leader Himanshu Bhushan Dixit, joined by Odisha Cricket Association Treasurer Bikash Pradhan, senior Paradip Port member Srikanta Ray, and Mangala Club advisor Rakesh Pattnaik, among others. They handed over the prizes to the players following the match.
Mangala Club President Pradipta Dixit announced that a melody program would be organized in the evening for the entertainment of spectators.
The winners (Juvenile) received a cash prize of ₹44,441 and a trophy, while the runners-up (Unique Eleven, Bhadrak) were awarded ₹21,221 along with their trophy, as informed by club secretary Shubhranshu Dixit.
The match was officiated by umpires Nirmal Kumar Mishra and Aheskant Mishra. Mangala Cricket Club manager Bhagabat Swain, treasurer Sanjay Samal, and other officials including E. Surya Kant Dixit, Sushant Das, Shyam Sundar Rana, and Akshaya Prasad Mohanty were present.
Commentary was provided by Bhagabat Swain, while scoring was managed by enthusiastic young members. The pitch curator Dhiren Chand also played a key role in ensuring the match was smoothly conducted.
The event concluded with Club President Pradipta Dixit formally declaring the session closed.
