Sevak Sahi Mourns the Demise of Mohini Devi
Kakatpur, 27/01:
Mohini Devi, the wife of the late Rajkishore Panda of Sevak Sahi, Kakatpur, passed away at around 11 a.m. Her passing has deeply saddened the local community. Upon receiving the news, several members of the Sevak Samiti, including President Manoranjan Panda, Himanshu Bhushan Dixit, Ashok Kumar Dixit, Chittaranjan Panda, Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, Mangala Prasad Dixit, and Gopinath Dixit, along with Kakatpur Press Club President Kamala Lochan Dixit, Editor Aditya Kumar Raut, and a few other members, visited her residence to pay their final respects and offered floral tributes.
She was 83 years old at the time of her death. Throughout her life, she remained dedicated to her duties and was actively involved in various religious activities. She was well known in the area as a devout and spiritually inclined woman.
Her mortal remains were taken in a grand procession around the village before the final rites were performed at the village cremation ground. Her eldest son, Ranjan Kumar Panda, lit the funeral pyre, while her younger son, journalist Pradeep Panda, along with her two daughters and over a hundred Sevaks, were present at the cremation.
A wave of mourning has swept across the region following her death.
