Burglars loot retired army personnel’s house; forensic team and sniffer dogs conduct investigation

Kakatpur, 22/12 (Tushar Dixit): Taking advantage of the absence of family members, miscreants looted the house of retired army personnel Madan Mohan Mallik in Hiradeipur village, under Patlada Panchayat of Astarang block. Upon receiving information, Mr. Mallik, who currently resides in Cuttack, returned to his house on Saturday and lodged a written complaint at Astarang police station.

Following the complaint, Astarang police brought in a forensic team and sniffer dogs to examine the household items and furniture. Although the house was equipped with CCTV cameras, they had stopped functioning, raising suspicion that the theft may have been carried out by someone local. This has been hinted at by villagers as well.

A case has been registered under number 257/24 at Astarang police station, and further investigation is ongoing. Astarang police station in-charge Rajesh Baliyarsingh informed that the culprits will be apprehended soon.
