Meeting Held for Maha Shivaratri Preparations at Lokanath Temple
Maha Shivaratri will be observed on the 18th of this month. In preparation for the occasion, a meeting was held this afternoon at the Circuit House to ensure the smooth organization of the Jagar Yatra at the sacred Lokanath Peeth. The meeting was presided over by Additional District Magistrate Pradeep Kumar Sahu, who emphasized that the Jagar Yatra typically draws a large crowd of devotees. Therefore, he advised that the event should be managed in a highly disciplined manner so that the devotees can have a peaceful and fulfilling experience.
Earlier, under the chairmanship of the Sub-Collector, discussions were held regarding the rituals and worship arrangements for Lokanath Dev during Maha Shivaratri. Based on that, the ADM urged for all tasks to be executed through mutual coordination among departments.
Additional SP Mihir Kumar Panda provided information on the various steps taken to maintain law and order and highlighted the importance of effective coordination between departments. Shri Jagannath Temple Rituals Administrator Jitendra Kumar Sahu informed that the Harihara Bheta ritual will be conducted smoothly during the Jagar Yatra.
Deputy Collector Bhavataran Sahu shared the schedule for the upcoming Pankoddhara Ekadashi on the 16th and the time chart for rituals and the Jagar Yatra. He also shed light on the various arrangements being made for the event.
The discussions included detailed planning for law and order management, parking arrangements, drinking water supply, cleanliness and sanitation, fragrance management, electricity supply, barricading, fire safety, temporary health centers, ambulance services, information centers, and cultural programs to ensure effective implementation of all preparations.
The meeting was attended by officials from various departments, Chairman of the Sebayat Nijog Ravi Narayan Panda, Secretary Santosh Kumar Panda, Pankoddhara Ekadashi Palia Sebayat Dayanidhi Mahapatra, and Jogania Sebayat Narendra Kumar Mohanty, among others.
