Baidei Festival Inaugurated – Journalists and School Students Honored
Kakatpur – The Baidei Festival was inaugurated in a vibrant and grand ceremony at the Sai Temple in Gad Amarprasad village, under Tulashipur Panchayat in Nimapada block of Puri district. This marks the fifth year of the festival, which was initiated by a group of local youths and intellectuals from the bordering constituencies of Kakatpur and Nimapada.
The three-day festival, organized in the name of Baidei Thakurani, began on Monday evening in a colorful setting. The festival was formally inaugurated by Nimapada MLA and former minister Samir Ranjan Dash and former MP Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani, who attended as chief guests and lit the ceremonial lamp.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by educationist Trilochan Kar. Among the honored guests were Nimapada Block Chairman Shankar Bhoi, Gop Block Chairperson Jhunu Mallik, Tulashipur Panchayat Sarpanch Manjushree Bhoi, Samiti Member Jharana Sahu, cine actor Jyoti Ranjan Nayak, and Surya Kant Samal.
The festival commenced with a grand palanquin procession of Sai Baba, supervised by Festival Committee Chairman Krushna Chandra Sahu. The procession began at Bhainchikora and concluded at the Sai Temple, accompanied by traditional drums and folk music.
On this occasion, distinguished local students and senior journalists were felicitated by the guests with ceremonial shawls and certificates of honor.
In particular, Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Vice President of the Kakatpur Press Club, was honored with a shawl and certificate by MLA Samir Ranjan Dash and veteran leader and former MP Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani, along with the president of the organizing committee.
The evening concluded with colorful cultural performances presented by the Sai Dance Group from Charichhak and the Indian Dance Academy from Bhubaneswar. Additionally, light music performances were given by the Raja and Bishwajit groups from Bhubaneswar.
Hundreds of spectators remained present until late into the night, enjoying the delightful cultural programs. Adequate security arrangements were made for the event by Charichhak Police.
