Open-Air Drama Competition to Begin from the 14th Under the Aegis of Satyanarayan Youth Club (Shukapokhari)
Kakatpur, 9/10 – The 35th Annual Festival of the Satyanarayan Youth Club and the 24th Open-Air Drama Competition will be held at Shukapokhari village under Jaleswarpada Gram Panchayat of Kakatpur block, beginning on Wednesday, the 14th of this month. The five-day event will host a series of vibrant cultural activities.
Renowned drama troupes from across Odisha, including those from Dhenkanal, Jajpur-Chhatia, Paradeep, Bhubaneswar, and Banki, will participate in the drama competition. Additionally, “Sur Jhankar” of Cuttack will present melodious musical performances during the festival. Each evening will also feature the “Ama Sunabohu” competition, adding charm and excitement to the program.
Those interested in participating in the competitions have been requested by the organizers to contact the Satyanarayan Youth Club, Shukapokhari. Every night, the festival will be graced by the presence of prominent guests, including senior politicians, writers, poets, intellectuals, educationists, and social workers from the local area.
According to the club’s president Abhaya Nayak, secretary Akshaya Sahoo, drama secretary Chittaranjan Mishra, and advisors Chhabi Parida, Brahmananda Biswal, Pratap Das, and Alok Parida, the purpose of the drama competition is to revive cultural heritage and promote social harmony through artistic expression.
