Anasara Phala Bhara Sent from Kakatpur’s Deuli Math for Lord Jagannath
Kakatpur, June 10:
Treatment for Lord Jagannath’s fever is currently underway at the Anasara Pindi (sick chamber). To cure the fever of the sacred Chaturdha deities, the Daitapati servitors are performing traditional healing rituals using the Dashamula herbal therapy. During this time, various kinds of fruits and offerings are presented to the Lord, which are supplied by different mathas and temples associated with Jagannath culture.
On Saturday, a traditional cart (shagada) carrying Anasara fruits was sent from Deuli Math in Kakatpur to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. The Prachi Sanskriti Suraksha Samiti sent fruits, Tulsi (holy basil), and lotus flowers as part of the offering.
The offerings include mangoes, jackfruit, coconuts, bananas, pijuli, and dates—all collected from local residents’ gardens. These, along with Tulsi and lotus flowers, were loaded onto a wooden cart and ceremoniously dispatched to Puri from Deuli Math. Prior to departure, the cart and oxen were worshipped according to traditional rituals by members of the Prachi Sanskriti Suraksha Samiti.
The cart will halt for the night at the Garudeswar Mahadev Temple near Ramachandi Peeth in Konark, and on Sunday morning, it will proceed toward Puri.
Deuli Math is considered the original leela-sthal (divine play site) or Entudishala of Lord Jagannath. During Nabakalebara, before searching for the sacred neem trees (Darus) for the new idols, the Daitapatis traditionally visit this math and stay overnight. By chanting the Swapnavati mantra, they receive divine instructions through dreams from Goddess Mangala, revealing the exact location of the Daru.
Deuli Math holds a deep spiritual connection with Jagannath culture and continues to play a vital role in rituals and traditions associated with the Lord.
