Gopa Jayanti Celebrated in Satyabadi by Satyabadi Organization

Today, on the occasion of the 146th birth anniversary of the great soul Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das, a celebration was organized by the prominent social organization “Satyabadi Sangathan.” The program was conducted under the leadership of former MLA of Satyabadi and former PCC President Shri Prasad Harichandan. Members of the organization paid floral tributes at various locations in Satyabadi where statues of Utkalmani Gopabandhu are located and remembered his legacy.
Under the leadership of Shri Prasad Harichandan, the Jayanti celebration was held with the participation of over a hundred workers. The program began with a tribute at Suando, the birthplace of Gopabandhu Das. Later, floral offerings were made at his statue in front of the Sakhigopal temple.
From there, a Sankirtan (devotional procession) was held, leading to the Panchasakha Memorial Site, where a five-faced lamp was lit and floral tributes were paid at the memorials of the five companions. After a moment of silent prayer, a devotional program was conducted in memory of Gopabandhu.
The event began with Vedic chanting by Pandit Ramakanta Kar at the sacred site. Guru Achyuta Maharana and fellow artists Mamata Srichandan and Ashok Kumar Sahu performed Gopabandhu’s favorite song “Misumora Deha Edesha Matire,” along with many devotional and patriotic songs, including “Ram Dhun.”
Today’s program was attended by Satyabadi Congress Block President Subash Chandra Mahapatra, Youth Congress President Lipti Ranjan Pradhan, Student Congress President Adarsh Mishra, and over a hundred workers and Gopabandhu admirers, who all paid their respects. District Congress Vice President Jayanta Kumar Hota conducted the program.
In his remarks, he expressed sorrow over the neglected state of the sacred Panchasakha site, which is equivalent to a national memorial. He emphasized that the government should definitely take responsibility for preserving such a historic site. ପୀଠ ର ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଦାୟିତ୍ଵ ନେବା କଥା ବୋଲି ମତ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଥିଲେ
