Boita Bandana Festival Celebrated at Pir Jahania Beach in Astaranga
Kakatpur, 29/11 (Tushar Dixit) — The Boita Bandana Utsav was celebrated on Monday morning at Pir Jahania Beach under Astaranga Block in Puri district. The event was organized jointly by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department and the Belabhumi Literary Council, under the banner of the Belabhumi Mahotsav.
A beautifully decorated wooden boat was worshipped in a large pond adjacent to the Pir beach. The ceremony was graced by the presence of District Council Member Saraswati Swain, Belabhumi Literary Council Editor Dusasan Nayak, Coordinator Shobhakara Behera, Executive Chairman of the Belabhumi Mahotsav Pramod Kumar Nayak, Chhuriana Sarpanch Ksharoda Kumar Kandi, Committee Member Bimbadhar Biswal, Social Worker Ullas Nayak, Astaranga Police Station IIC Rakesh Baliarsingh, Sub-Inspector Sangram Swain, educationist Bijay Kumar Bhat, among others.
After decorating the newly built boat with incense, lamps, and flower garlands, it was worshipped and then placed permanently in the blue waters of the pond for the viewing pleasure of visitors. A large crowd from the surrounding areas was seen attending the event.
