National Ramayana Festival Inaugurated in Puri
Puri — The grand temple of Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Shri Ram is set to be inaugurated in Ayodhya on January 22, where the idol installation and ceremonial worship will take place. To spread the message of this historic celebration to Sanatan Hindu devotees and followers of other faiths across India and abroad, a special Ram Rath Yatra has been launched under the guidance of Padma Vibhushan Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Shri Ram Bhadracharyaji Maharaj, head of Shri Tulsi Peeth.
The Ram Rath, which began its journey from Bikaner, Rajasthan on November 25, reached Puri on Friday. Upon arrival, the chariot carrying saints and spiritual leaders was warmly welcomed by Pandit Bishnu Charan Panda Ji, founder and secretary of the Shri Ram Sundarkand Charitable Trust, at the Gobinda Godham Goshala campus in Alipada, Brahmagiri, Puri.
On this occasion, the nine-day-long National Ramayana Festival was also inaugurated, as is done every year at Gobinda Godham. Seated on the Vyasa Peeth, Pandit Bishnu Charan Panda himself recited verses from the Ramcharitmanas.
The Rath is scheduled to reach Ayodhya on January 13, and the National Ramayana Festival will continue until that date.
Distinguished guests present at the event included Vaishnav Das Ji Maharaj from Haridwar, Raghavendra Das Ji Maharaj from Himachal, Ramesh Kumar Phufaliya from Hyderabad, Tilak Dubey (National President of Hanuman Sena), Abhishek Joshi (State President of Odisha Suraksha Sena), and senior journalist and trust spokesperson Bishnu Dutta Das, among others.
