As the entire nation prepares for the grand consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, a special creation from Odisha is drawing attention. A magnificent Pattachitra artwork, painted by Neelamani Jena, a skilled artisan from Mathasahi locality in Satyabadi block of Puri district, will be showcased in Ayodhya.
This artistic piece vividly illustrates the life of Lord Ram — from His birth to coronation — and the grandeur of the newly built Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Neelamani and his team have portrayed every detail of Ram Lalla’s life story with remarkable precision and care.
The painting measures 8 feet in length and 3 feet in width, made entirely on cotton cloth using natural colors. It took Neelamani and his five associates a total of 30 days to complete the artwork.
A young and highly skilled Pattachitra artist, Neelamani Jena from Satyabadi has earned significant recognition for his artistry. He has previously presented his paintings to the President of India, the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, and Governor, receiving widespread acclaim. He is also a recipient of the International Achievement India Award (2019) and the International Art and Imagination Award.
Through his initiative “Karmajeebi,” Neelamani has conducted various handicraft programs and has actively participated in multiple district and state-level competitions, achieving great success.
As his artwork is set to be sent to Ayodhya, the residents of the Satyabadi region have expressed immense pride and joy.
