46th Annual Festival of Satyabadi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Held
Sakhigopal, 28/01 (Report by Deeptisundar Mahapatra): The 46th Annual Festival of Satyabadi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, under Satyabadi Block, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the parking area near the famous Sakhigopal Temple, under the chairmanship of Durga Prasad Mahapatra.
The chief guests at the event were Shreekanta Das, Director of the Odissi Research Centre, and Guru Satchidananda Das. The program began with the floral offering and ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the idol of Lord Jagannath, followed by the inauguration of the music and dance festival.
The event commenced with a Guru Vandana and patriotic songs performed by the young students of the institution. Under the guidance of Gurus Ashok Kumar Sahu, Baikuntha Sethi, and Prasanna Kumar Behera, the little ones presented the devotional bhajan “Prabhupada Tale Pranati Dhale.”
Under the direction of Gurus Durga Prasad Mahapatra and Brajakishore Mahapatra, students Shubhashree Pattnayak and Lipina Bhoi painted beautiful artworks on canvases near the stage and filled them with vibrant colors. These artistic expressions by the young students deeply touched the hearts of the audience.
The stage performances continued with renditions of Odissi music and Ra Champu. This was followed by a captivating tabla lahara performance. The precision and skill of the young tabla players left a lasting impression on the audience. Later, the dance segment began, featuring Mangala Charan, Bhajan Dance, Saraswati Vandana, Odissi Dance, Devotional Dance, Mother Worship Dance, and Sambalpuri Dance.
Both junior and senior students of the institution showcased their talents through music and dance, keeping the audience engaged until late into the evening. The choreography was directed by Guru Lingaraj Swain, Chirasrota Khuntia, and Meera Das. Instrumental accompaniment was provided by Guru Baikuntha Sethi, Prasanna Kumar Behera, and Manas Kumar Shadangi.
The program was coordinated by Editor Badrinarayan Khuntia, while the stage was managed by advocate Anjan Kumar Hota.
