Harinaam Sankirtan and Bhagabata Recitation Sanctify Akhuriya Village, Thousands of Devotees from Nearby Villages Attend

Akhuriya village under Kakatpur block witnessed a spiritually charged atmosphere on Friday evening as villagers organized a grand celebration of Harinaam Sankirtan and collective Bhagabata recitation in a unique and magnificent manner. The event was conducted with great devotion by the villagers in a pious setting.
A total of 64 individuals, including women from the village, participated in the collective Bhagabata recitation, which along with continuous chanting of Harinaam transformed the entire village into a spiritual hub. From children to the elderly, and women of all ages came together to immerse themselves in the divine nectar of Harinaam.
For the past 26 years, the villagers of Akhuriya in Suhanapur panchayat have been organizing the Ashtaprahari Naam Yagna, and for the last 11 years, they have also been conducting the collective Bhagabata recitation and Harihat Mahotsav with great grandeur. This event has been a powerful spiritual message for society.
During the Harihat, 64 villagers participated in the Bhagabata recitation. The village pathways echoed with chants of “Haribol”, divine music, and spiritual dances, creating a deeply devotional ambiance.
Through their unique way of organizing the Harihat and Bhagabata recitation, Akhuriya villagers have set a spiritual example for the people of Odisha. Senior citizens remarked that in the age of Kali (Kaliyuga), to attain salvation and peace, one must embrace the chanting of Harinaam and the reading of sacred texts like the Bhagabata.
Around 12 Sankirtan groups from nearby areas participated in the event, engaging in collective chanting and soaking in the spiritual bliss of Harinaam. The entire celebration was coordinated and managed by the villagers themselves.
