Satyabadi Mahotsav 2025 Revives the Heritage, Art, Culture, and Traditions of Satyabadi

With the aim of reviving the rich heritage, art, culture, and traditions of Satyabadi, the three-day-long “Satyabadi Mahotsav 2025” was inaugurated at the Panchasakha Open-Air Theatre. A ceremonial flame was collected from the birthplace of the Panchasakha and brought in a grand procession to the festival venue. The procession, starting from Sakhigopal Bus Stand, featured decorated chariots accompanied by horse dance, lion beats, tribal dances, traditional instruments, naga dance, gotipua, and paika akhada performances.

After the ceremonial arrival of the flame at the Agyanmala stage of Lord Sakhigopinath, the inaugural celebration began. On the first evening, the festival was officially inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Skill Development and Handicrafts. Distinguished guests included Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Higher Education, Sports, and Youth Entrepreneurship; Pipili MLA Shri Ashrit Pattnaik; Korei MLA Shri Akash Das Nayak; Shri Himansu Sahoo; Satyabadi MLA Shri Om Prakash Mishra; Associate Editor Bhabanishankar Nanda; Editor Deepak Kumar Satapathy; Treasurer Bishwaranjan Nayak; Coordinators Janaki Baral, Badrinarayan Khuntia, and Pradyumna Satapathy; and District Council Member Bishnu Priya Baral, among others.
The festival featured a vibrant cultural lineup. Artists from Satyabadi Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, under the direction of Guru Lingaraj Swain, presented a dance tribute titled “Shree Radha” based on the life of Goddess Radharani, dedicated to the feet of Maa Radha and Lord Sakhigopinath. Students from Satyabadi Saraswati Shishu Mandir performed Sambalpuri folk dance, followed by modern dance by the local Star Dhamaka Group, and folk performances by artists from Bhawanipatna-based Pratibha Anusthan. Satyabadi Shreekrishna Dance Group also performed a devotional dance titled “Maa Durga,” while young singer Debasmita Hota captivated the audience with her melodious voice.
All the participating artists were felicitated with the Satyabadi Smaraki Award by Block Development Officer Shri Debashis Nayak and Additional Tahsildar Shri Rajesh Priyadarshi.
