Memorial Meeting Held in Honour of Late Lakshmidhar Khuntia
Kakatpur, 7/7 – A memorial meeting was held on Friday in front of the residence of late Lakshmidhar Khuntia, a distinguished educator, retired headmaster, former Block Congress President, and veteran political mentor of the Kakatpur region.
The event began with floral tributes and lighting of lamps in front of a photograph of the late Khuntia. The memorial gathering was presided over by educationist Pandit Kalandi Charan Chatoi. Many dignitaries were present, including Jatani MLA Suresh Rautaray, BJD State General Secretary and prominent leader of Kakatpur and Nimapara constituencies Satyabrata Patra, CPI State Secretary Ashis Kanungo, Congress leader Bishwabhushan Das, Kakatpur Block Chairman Sridhar Khuntia, veteran film artist Pradyumna Lenka, along with many intellectuals.
During the memorial, the speakers remembered and highlighted Khuntia’s contributions to education, his affection for students, his commitment to public service, and, above all, his political involvement and service to the Kakatpur constituency. They also reflected on his legacy and emphasized the importance of continuing his work with the same dedication.
Among others who attended and spoke were legal expert Prafulla Nayak, educationists Bhramarabar Ojha and Anadi Charan Swain, professor Lalatendu Swain, youth leader Jitendra Nayak, and Prafulla Parida. Many educators and citizens from Astaranga, Kakatpur, and Konark areas also participated, paying heartfelt tributes to the late Khuntia with deep emotion.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative souvenir in memory of Late Lakshmidhar Khuntia by all the distinguished guests.
