Independent Meeting of Astaranga Journalists’ Association Held; MLA Praised for Smart School Initiative
Astaranga, 24/7 – An independent meeting of the Astaranga Journalists’ Association was formally held on Sunday at the Lakshmi Kalyan Mandap, the main marketplace of Astaranga block. The meeting was presided over by senior journalist and chief advisor Shri Dushasan Nayak. Key issues such as roads, drinking water, electricity, hospitals, and other basic amenities in the Astaranga region were discussed in detail, with emphasis on how the general public can benefit from improvements in the coming days.
The meeting also highlighted the transformation of various schools in the Astaranga region into smart schools. Students are now benefiting from digital education and advanced facilities. In light of the educational development in the region, the efforts of Kakatpur MLA and Union Minister of State for Home and Sports Shri Tusharkanti Behera and Puri Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman Shri Swadhin Nayak were praised.
The gathering acknowledged that many common citizens, as well as intellectuals, continue to face challenges in accessing justice in local offices such as the Tehsil, Block, Medical, and Police stations. Hence, the Astaranga Journalists’ Association resolved to join voices with the people and initiate a campaign to help them secure justice in the days ahead.
Those who actively participated in the meeting and discussions included association advisors journalist Niranjan Das, editor Lokanath Nayak, legal advisor Priyadarshi Bishwal, treasurer Sameer Kar, and senior journalist and advisor Sarat Parida, along with Brundaban Bishwal, Manoj Bishwal, and Priyabrata Muduli.
New members Arya Bishwal and Arttatrana Mahanti were unanimously welcomed and inducted into the association. Members who were unable to attend due to prior commitments expressed their agreement with the association’s resolutions. It was also announced by Shri Nayak that another independent meeting will be held on Friday, the 28th, at Pir Jahania Peeth in Astaranga.
