Shri Prashanta Kumar Mangaraj Receives “Suchitra Samman”
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the literary magazine Suchitra, published from the birthplace of Saint Poet Bhima Bhoi, renowned children’s writer and Chief Minister’s Education Award-winning headmaster Shri Prashanta Kumar Mangaraj was honored with the Suchitra Shishu Sahitya Samman.
The event, held on February 11, was chaired by Dr. Deepti Kumar Pattnaik. Renowned film actress and eminent dance director Tapaswini Guru was the chief guest. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Manoj Kumar Panda, a member of the Central Sahitya Akademi Advisory Board. Other notable guests included Sambalpur edition chief editor and poet Lakshminarayan Hota and film art director Kalinga Keshari Nayak.
Shri Prashanta Kumar Mangaraj has authored over eighteen books in Odia children’s literature, excelling particularly in the genre of children’s novels. His notable works include Banare Lagichi Nia, Akhi Kholidele Acharya Babu, Narakapurare Nabedin, Bisha Manisha, Kuni Bani, and the translated book Mu Bhi Ambedkar, all of which have been highly acclaimed by readers.
In addition to his contributions to children’s literature, Shri Mangaraj is also well-regarded in the field of education. His school was recently awarded the Chief Minister’s Education Award. In recognition of his achievements, he was also honored by the Kanasa BDO Niranjan Sahu on behalf of the Sahupada Gram Panchayat.
